Vision Boards can be extremely powerful… and according to Jack Canfield – author of “The Success Principles” Vision boards are the perfect tool to help you visualize your goals and activate the Law of Attraction.

If you want to start using the law of attraction or have goals you wish to manifest, then a vision board is a must! Here I will share with you just some of the reasons why a vision board can be helpful and effective in the manifestation process…

What Is A Vision Board?

A vision board may also be called a manifestation board or dream board, is commonly used tool to help support the visualization process when using the law of attraction. A Vision board is a collage of images, pictures, words and affirmations representing a persons dreams, desires or goals.

Most people create a vision board using a large piece of board usually around A3 or A2 in size, and cut out images from magazines and catalogues and stick them to the board using glue. Once the board is complete, it should be placed or hung up, somewhere where you will see it everyday.

5 Reasons Why You Should Create A Vision Board


One very good reason to create a vision board is to help you clearly define what it is you really desire, and goals you want to achieve. It allows you to get clear on what is really important to you. I have said it before in a previous article, but if you want to manifest successfully, you must be really clear about what you want to have and experience in your future.

Mind Empowerment

A vision board is a tool to support the visualization process. A vision board can help program the reticular activating system (RAS) which is an area of the subconscious mind, to recognise available resources, which it may have not previously noticed — attracting you to the people, resources, and opportunities you need to achieve your goal.


A vision board can help you focus and stay focused. Our minds are usually busy, and it can be easy to lose sight of what we want from life. By keeping a vision board in your site is a constant reminder of what you want, and what you need to do to stay on track to progress forward with your desires.

High Vibe

If you want to find a way to raise your vibration and feel good, try making a vision board. Seeing a board with your goals will help you feel empowered, and will create positive feelings of seeing all the wonderful things you desire put together.


A vision board is a visual and excellent motivation tool, and is a great way to inspire you to move forward with achieving your goals.

Journal Your Gratitude

One of the most popular ways to practice gratitude, is to journal it. The practice allows you to think about, and appreciate your life and experiences – this naturally puts your mind into a more positive state.

Research at Harvard University was carried out on people who wrote about the things they were grateful for – over a period of 10 weeks. Studies found participants felt better and more optimistic about their lives.

The way to truly benefit by practicing gratitude is to do it regularly – ideally on a daily basis.

Practice Mindfulness

Here’s a scary fact…It is believed we spend about 40 % of our lives in our heads – such as “overthinking” or “worrying.” Try to become aware when “overthinking” or “worrying,” and when you do, bring your attention back to the present.

Learn to absorb, appreciate and experience the present moment – this practice is known as “mindfulness.”

So when you’re out taking a walk in nature; look around, absorb and appreciate the sights, smells, noises. When drinking your morning cup of coffee-sip the coffee slowly and really taste it, and enjoy this moment – it’s all about appreciation for the simple things!

Say Thank you

As I said at the beginning of this post; sometimes we take things in life for granted, and we can also take family and friends for granted too. So do tell those around you, that you are thankful to have them in your life.

Appreciate What You Have

“If we don’t feel grateful with what we already have. What makes us think we will be happy with more?”

All to often, we can feel discontent in life, because we have a need for things or a situation we haven’t got, for example:

“I will be happy when I have a new car”

“I will be happy when I have found the right partner”

“I will be happy when I have lost weight”

“I will be happy when I go on holiday.”

But remember… Happiness is often found in the journey…

Even if you’re having a bad day, try to keep smiling and be grateful for today. The simple act of making yourself smile really can make you feel happier!

Scientific studies have proven; even when you smile during stressful times, it actually alleviates stress levels and makes you feel better. Smiling changes the body’s chemical balance-reducing stress hormone levels and increases endorphins, as we know, the happy hormones!

Law of Attraction is a way of manifesting wonderful things, people or experiences, that you desire, into your life… by ordering your desires directly from the universe.

So would you like to learn how to get started in the law of attraction?

I have put together the following steps, making it easy to learn, and understand what it entails.

But one very important word I would like mention, before delving in and sharing these steps is you must…

“B E L I E V E”

If you do the work… and “B E L I E V E”  the ~**M a G i C **~ will happen!

Ask. Believe. Receive. This is a very well-known law of attraction mantra.


The first thing I recommend to get started in the Law of Attraction, is get your hands on a good Law Of Attraction book! One of my personal favourites, and a great one for learning the basic principles of Law of Attraction, is “The Power” By Rhonda Byrne. I love the Audio version, because I find it very powerful with the added sound track.


To manifest with success, you really need to be crystal clear about what you want. If you are not clear, the manifestation process won’t work. So be sure to clearly write down all of your desires, write them on a piece of card or paper and keep it with you, and read EVERY DAY. Another good tip is to stick it somewhere, you are likely to regularly stop and read – such as the fridge!

Vision Board

Now in the previous step… I mentioned the importance of clarity, and a great way to help with clarity is creating a vision board. A vision board, can be made with a large piece of card, or even a pin board. You then stick on pictures and words of things you want to manifest into your life. So If you are not 100 percent sure about what you want from life, then a vision board can also be really helpful in bringing clarity, as you can piece together exactly want you want to achieve in your life. The other reason why you must create a vision board, is to support the visualization process. This now leads me onto the next step…


Did you know your mind cannot tell the difference from what is real, and what is not? Imagine drinking a glass of water; the exact same areas of the brain light up, as if you were actually drinking the glass of water.

Visualization is P O W E R F U L stuff! There is so much scientific research to back up how effective visualization is, and even athletes use it for better performance. So if you would like to attract something into your life, you must practice visualizing your desires. With regular visualization practice, your brain will believe you already have what you desire; this can create new pathways and networks in your brain. As a result your brain will look for opportunities to get what you want. Practice visualization every day, preferably as soon as you wake and before you go to bed. Here is a very short video from the OPRAH show, with Jim Carrey and how he used visualization to manifest 10 million dollars.


Visualization is far more effective and powerful when it is combined with positive emotions. When visualizing, you must imagine how good it would feel to have your desires in your life… and create the same emotions as if you had. So for example… if you would like to manifest your dream beach holiday, close your eyes and imagine lying on the perfect beach, feel the soft sand beneath you, the sun’s warmth on your skin, imagine what you can smell and see around, and how wonderfully relaxed, happy and at peace you feel. Think of it like this… VISUALIZATION + POSITIVE EMOTION = SUCESS!!!

High Vibe

As mentioned in the previous step, you should always apply positive emotions and feelings to your visualization process. It is also important to become aware of your emotions at all times throughout the day. You consistently need to be working on staying “high vibe” (keeping your vibrational frequency high) as much as you can. Every thing in the universe has a vibrational frequency; people, food, even the thoughts we think and the words we speak! If you think or feel love, happiness, joy, you will attract more of it into your life. If you fill your days with negative thought, actions and feelings, such as anger, hate, fear, you will attract experiences which create more of those feelings.


Affirmations are used for self empowerment, motivation and for reprogramming the subconscious mind for positivity and success. Affirmations are positive words phrases and sentences, based on what you want to achieve, be, experience and/or have in your life. These words should be read, repeated, and spoken aloud. Again when it comes to affirmations, positive emotion should be applied.


Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions you can think or feel. If you want to start manifesting and attracting with success – practicing daily gratitude is an absolute must! Gratitude works, because it not only raises your vibrational frequency, but it is a signal to the universe you have appreciation, therefore you deserve to be sent more things to appreciate. One of the most popular ways to practice gratitude, is to keep a daily gratitude journal.


Keep a daily journal, write about all the things you are grateful for. A journal will help you to keep track of your wins and progress, plus it will help you to evaluate on areas of your life that may need to spend more time and energy.

Have Fun!

Manifesting can be really good fun, so enjoy it! You can also ask a friend to join in with the manifestation process; create vision boards together, share your ideas and visions. Join online and offline manifestation groups, and make new friends with the same interest. The more you have fun, the higher you raise your vibes for success!

Every person on this earth has a life purpose, but whilst every person has a calling, many people do not even realise and remain completely unaware of it through their life.

Through society, and other external influences, many people are living lives untrue to who they really are, and were ever meant to be.

This is one very good reason why I started LiveYourLightProject.Com, because I want people to realise and awaken to what, and how life was meant to be lived, and recognise their own unique gifts, talents, and souls callings.

But whilst so many do remain unaware, there are others who know their purpose and wonderful gifts, but do not pursue their purpose for many reasons, and here are some just to name a few…

  • Afraid to fail
  • Worry what friends/family think
  • Too old/too young
  • Not intelligent enough
  • Not enough money
  • Lack of qualifications/skills
  • Established for too long in their current industry
  • Commitments such as family to support, mortgage to pay.

I have seen and met many people, with the same worries and concerns as above, who go on to successfully live and achieve their life purpose.

So if you fall into one, or more from the categories above, please read on…

I hope you will find reason, strength and courage to move forward in finding and pursuing your passions and purpose.

Have No Regrets

I often say “we only regret what we don’t do.”

Many people do not pursue their life purpose, because they are afraid of failure, or what others would think if they were to pursue their purpose.

But if you have a desire to move forward, then I urge you to do so, as I feel this next piece of research alone is enough reason…

When you are treading on the right path, you will wake up excited and energized about what you have to give, you will feel wholeness. Now I am not going to say living your life purpose is always going to be easy and perfect, because often it is not. But you will be driven and motivated to move forward even through the difficult and challenging times, because you get a sense of fulfilment by the work you are doing.

The World Needs YOU!

Not only will you gain through living your purpose. But have you ever considered, if you keep all your special gifts and talents hidden away, you are only being unfair to the world around you. You have so much to give, and what you give can change lives! So remember the world wants and needs you!

Clarity Means More Happiness

Living life with no focus, can leave you feeling confused, frustrated and anxious. This was my experience before finding my purpose. When you know your purpose, you will have so much clarity and focus. You will know exactly what you want from life and know exactly where you need to be going. This alone can create feelings of energy, inspiration and happiness.

Better Health & Wellbeing

People who are not living their life purpose, tend to live each and every day as it comes; feeling bored, tired, deflated and uninspired. Whereas people who are living their life purpose, naturally feel more optimistic, energized, excited, inspired and motivated. The optimistic mind set, can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, creating overall better health and well-being.
